The Wild West |
I've been involved with rodeo since before I was born actually ... *L* ... my maternal great-grandfather was a working cowboy in Missouri/Oklahoma and his daughter, my grandmother, could do the "Pony Express Mount" better than most trick riders.
My grandparents were members of the Molalla Buckeroo Rodeo Association for almost 20 years before my grandfather's death in 1982. My parents were also in the Association for almost 20 years before they got involved with Oregon Equestrian Trails and began trail riding.
I rode Pee Wee Rodeo barrels and was a member of our local High School rodeo association but didn't compete as we had turned to trail riding and raising a few performance (trail and cutting) horses. Just backyard, not professionally ...*L*...
I guess you could say, "I've broke em & rode em, sometimes roped em, and once in a great while fallen off em" ... *S*... enjoy...
